Titian 2012: “Metamorphosis” starring Anna Friel

Posted filed underOld Masters, Shows, Videos.

This film is inspired by Titian’s famous painting Diana and Actaeon, and stars Anna Friel as the goddess. Ovid’s classical poem Metamorphosis tells the story of goddess Diana and the hunter Actaeon. This timeless story has been reignited by Credit Suisse in a contemporary English setting, featuring Anna Friel and Ed Speleers, to draw attention to the Titian exhibition (July 11 — September 23) in London’s National Gallery.

Celebrate ‘Metamorphosis: Titian 2012′, a unique collaboration with The Royal Ballet, with this re-imagining of the Diana myth.

The film ties in with the unusual approach that the National Gallery has taken to the Titian show, which features work by contemporary artists Chris Ofili, Conrad Shawcross and Mark Wallinger, who have all created artworks responding to paintings by the Italian master, which are also displayed.
