Alexander Schellow is a contemporary artist living and working in Berlin.
Since 1999, he practices drawing from memory reconstruction. From this context result work, space research, development, installations, performance work for theater, lectures and animations finally – since 2002, numerous collaborations in the scientific and artistic field.
The series spots consists of animation films, each 3 seconds in duration. They depict movement sequences from everyday situations. Each sequence consists (with slight variation) of 36 drawings. Of these, each drawing is realized independent of the other as a reconstruction from memory. The films appear and disappear subconsciously permeating perception as a principally flexible form.
Within 3 seconds, perceived as a duration of a “present”, time is in a kind of limbo. The practice of drawing along with its result, the film, specify in unceasing repetition a unit within the temporal discontinuity, a linearity in a mesh of fragments.
These films are delivered in the adequate format for iPad devices. They are easily convertible to iPod format with the relevant application.

As a fine art TV broadcaster ikono initiates new ideas that make art accessible - so naturally our webstore pays special attention to supporting the concept of artistic practice. That's why our shop contains items that are only available on demand. Following the motto, "accessible price, unusual content", we seek to collaborate with artists offering exclusive art objects for the home at an affordable price. Through our online shopping experience, we want to counter the tendency of the internet today to offer mass produced objects, without guidance, to consumers ravished by the storm of choice. Working directly with artists to create a small selection of high-quality, unique items, we intend to create a treasure trouve of art and design gems. The online design will allow random exploration for the discovery of works presented in a magazine style.
