Alessandra Bergamaschi graduated in Communication at the University of Bologna and studied art at Accademia delle Belle Arti (Bologna) and EAV Parque Laje (Rio de Janeiro). Multimedia visual artist, in 2011 she won an honorable mention at the feature films competition of It’s all True International Documentary Film Festival (Brazil), with Aterro do Flamengo, a video about the boundaries of documentary film genre. Among other collective exhibitions, she participated at Utan titlel (video), Skånes konstförening (Malmo, 2011), Artelaguna International Art Prize, Tese dell’Arsenale (Venice, 2010) and Peace/utopia or real space, Art Transponder Gallery (Berlin, 2009). In 2009 she published the artist book Democratic Forest (a.pt/a.pass, Antwerp), in collaboration with Sara Manente, resulting from a theoretical and practical research project on different kinds of collectivities and the ways they constitute, organize, dissolve. She lives and works in Rio de Janeiro.
