On Air: Benedikt PartenheimerThe ikono On Air Festival is showing Benedikt Partenheimer's film "White Horse": The horse, especially the white horse is a strong historical and religious symbol. It is written into scriptures of the Koran, the Bible and the Torah. It symbolizes, success, freedom, strength, power, nobility and wisdom. The video shows a white horse near the separation wall in Bir Nabala, Pales-tine. The horse is standing right in front of us and the string around its neck is torn as if it freed itself. The horse is observing us while we are observing it. Time is slowed down and depicted forwards and backwards. We can see the muscle contractions and the movements of the horses tail. The face is calm and it is looking straight at us. We are locked into a fragment of time where the beginning is also the end and the end becomes the beginning, only to repeat itself in a seemingly never-ending cycle.
