Jeremy Bailey & Derek Piotr

Jeremy Bailey – Colossus Jeremy Bailey is a Toronto-based Famous New Media Artist whose innovative and ground breaking work has shown in hundreds of important festivals, galleries and museums all over the world, including Transmediale in Berlin, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, FACT in Liverpool, the Tate Liverpool and the New Museum in New York. "Since the early noughties Bailey has ploughed a compelling, and often hilarious, road through the various developments of digital communications technologies. Ostensibly a satire on, and parody of, the practices and language of "new media," the jocose surface of Bailey’s work hides an incisive exploration of the critical intersection between video, computing, performance, and the body." (Morgan Quaintance, Rhizome) Derek Piotr is a Polish-born sound artist based currently in New England, USA. Piotr's work focuses mainly on the voice. He has worked as an intern to Meredith Monk; collaborated with AGF and Richard Chartier; and has had works featured on ResonanceFM.

On Air: Jeremy Bailey & Derek Piotr

The ikono On Air Festival is showing Jeremy Bailey's film Colossus (2012, Song: Airing. Produced & performed by Derek Piotr): "A few months ago Derek  introduced himself over email and asked me to make a music video for him. I decided it would be a great opportunity to write software specifically for a song. This is what we came up with together." (Jeremy Bailey) -> From Curator Omar Kholeif - Syndrome of a Decade
