Peru Ana Ana Peru All that is known of Peru Ana Ana Peru is that it originated in Bushwick, Brooklyn. It is a guy and a girl, or a girl and a guy, if you will. Currently it spends the bulk of its time making films and art, not riding bikes, and trying to solve the Rubik’s cube in under 30 seconds. Its work consists primarily of video art and fine art which references the absurdity in everyday life moments and a childlike sense of play and humour. In a more haphazard and silly manner, its name – PERU ANA ANA PERU – can be seen splashed across many a wall, door, advert, mailbox, lamp post, trash can, food cart, soda machine, stop sign, fire hydrant, toilet seat, etc., all over NYC and other major cities of the world. They have shown video pieces at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Art Basel Miami, Sharjah Biennial, and have had shows in London, New York, and LA. They have also done commissioned design work, such as an Eames Chair and an NBA backboard.
